Devlog #29: 2024 In Review
Greetings and salutations Battle Succubi fans!
Happy much belated 2025! I was working on this post near the end of 2024, but it has been so long that my draft appears to have been deleted. I must apologize for the long delay in posting. I got sick on Christmas Day, and then had a horrible allergic reaction to one of the medicines, which put me out of commission for several weeks.
Below, you can see the commits graph for 2024. There were 54 total commits made. I'm sorry to say that I don't have good records for the number of new versions uploaded to Itch.io, but it wasn't 54.
You can also see that the weekends and Monday for some reason are popular times for me to commit. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I've been working full-time at a new company since March, so my time to spend on this project during the weekdays is limited.
I'm going to share some details about what I've been working on during the last 12 months for Battle Succubi. Early in the year, I was focused on redoing the level design using better pref models I'd made in Blender. I also spent a lot of time working on new textures for these prefabs, which I think look really nice.
I spent a lot of time going through the sex animations and updating those. I now have 3 female characters mostly complete, but I'm planning on getting in another 3.
My original plan for Battle Succubi was to limit myself to only four succubi queens, which would grant blessing similarly to the gods in Hades. I've since decided to up that to 10, and I've made good headway on implementing their different powerups.
Near the end of May, I rediscovered Trello, and began using that to track my progress on tasks.
It's thanks to Trello (and Python for the data analysis) that you can see these graphs charting the project's progress. I'll be uploading gifs of several of the various effects that I've been working on later this month, and I hope to release a new version of the game by the end of February.
